Bio

I paint modern and expressive watercolor florals. I ‘ve been painting for over twenty years. I previously had a career in the medical field and have been enjoying motherhood. I live in the rural mountains of California, always finding inspiration in nature and the outdoors.

During recent difficult health journeys, my long recoveries led me back to my love of watercolor. Focusing on my art helped me to heal and focus on subjects that uplifted my mood with vibrant and cheerful colors. I incorporate these moments of botanical allure with my vision of striking elements.

I also hope to bring awareness to Ehlers Danlos, a connective tissue disease that impacts my daily life, through my art pieces. My Bendy Stems series will explore the hypermobile, too-flexible, nature of joints through the stretching and tearing of flowers. I plan to continue this series in 2026.

Besides art, my interests include most things outside with my family-hiking, camping, lake-sunning,- as well as reading and probably drinking too much coffee.

Statement

I explore the beauty of florals and nature through expressive watercolor. My style incorporates vibrant colors, intricate detail and technique to capture realist flowers with a modern twist. I explore themes of decay in dried florals; and the creation of life in my Color Fill series, where I imagine paint dripping into petals, filling some while leaving other petals with only an abstract, implied outline.
